2000 Flex Fuel cutting out, stalling - Ford Forums

Hows it going? I have a 2000 Flex fuel Taurus that has been acting up. Under heavy acceleration, the engine will cut in and out. It does the same thing going up hills no matter how much I am on the throttle. Also, a few times when I came to a stop, the car shut off. A month or two ago, I was getting a random check engine light. I took it to Ford, and they said it was intermittent fuel pump failure. The car seemed to be running normal at that time. Now, the light is off, and has been for a few weeks, but now I have the running issue. The pump/module was replaced about a year and a half ago. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks, Ed

Has the fuel filter been replaced lately? They can get plugged at some poor service stations. I bought an aftermarket fuel pump for one of my cars awhile back and it went out in 13 Monthes and 7500 miles.

The fuel filter has been replaced recently. Under normal conditons, the car runs fine. A clogged filter would cause issues all the time. I'm pretty sure the pump is the problem. I just want to be sure before I spend $300 on a new one. I figured if I am still having intermittent failure, the check engine light would come back on, and it hasn't
