Hello and good day:

I am sorry to say I believe you may have a bad Power Steering Pump...You said when you turn the car off...the Fluid seeps back up out of the Cap Vent hole...this may because by a bad bearing in the pump, or there is a Clog in the line to the Rackinpion steering. (causing it to squeal)

I have no clue why your Tail Pipe would be getting "Cherry Red"...I would take it back to the Shop that you had the Repairs made...and Demand some answers.

Good luck and good repairing

Exclamation Re: 2000 sable power steering problem

Is it the catalytic converter getting red??? A clogged cat, clogged system or a poor running engine dumping unburned gas into the exhaust system will cause the cat to overheat and melt down.

Hello to you Tbird:

If his Tail is getting that Hot....That Catalytic has to be on Nuclear Meltdown...

Wouldn't he Smell that Baby??? lol....

A few Years ago I had a 97 Taurus...An the Muffler some how got bent causing it to cut off the flow...and that Puppy got "Cherry Red"...He may what to check that too...
