I was having issues with my flashers not working properly they would work fine but when i hit the breaks my right side flasher would go solid and stop flashing, so i went and replaced it and now the flashers dont work at all so i put the old one back in at least i had something and now that doesnt work at all.

I replaced all the bulbs my 4ways work fine any ideas?

Get on your knees and make sure all the wires and relays under the dash are tight and secure. It sounds like wires have been crossed somewhere along the line. I'd get a good flashlight and make sure all wires are bunched (tie wrapped) together nicely and none have frayed around the connectors. It'll take some time as electrical gremlins are the worst to get.

" so i went and replaced it " what did you replace ? 360. Wires don't just cross and relays don't come loose. It worked from the factory. If nothing touched it and the car didn't fall off a bridge the wiring will never cross. Not one of the better posts i've seen from you. the flasher is bad or the turn signal switch is bad. Did he replace all the bulds with the proper ones ? Is he missing a dash panel ground ? All turn signals and brake light
wiring join in the signal switch.

Then I got down on my knees...like 360 said and tried to locate a short....

I finally found what the Hell was causing it....I had to take off the plastic panel on the Liftgate...checking the wires...and found the short...near the Auto unlock....

Some how a connector had a loose wire...touching the metal...causing a arc from the 3rd brake lite....

Soooo good luck and good repairing.

LOL thanx for the inputs I have not touched any wires i have replaced the bulbs with the proper ones before i touched the relay the flasher worked fine until i hit the breaks then the right side would stop flashing until i lifted my foot off the break. Then after that i reached down and only pulled the flasher relay out tired another one and that didnt work so i put the orginal back in and now nothin. I took the car to FORD they shop guy put a OEM relay in and that didnt work he said its not the flasher and that they would have to diagnose the problem and i would be looking at $100 so i havent done that yet.

Thanx Sterling for the info i will have to look at that in a few weeks im going in for knee surgery tomorrow so it will be awhile before i drive or get on my knees to look again.

The vehicle is 9 years old. Just because it worked from the factory, doesn't mean something couldn't have worked loose or been changed out by previous owner or the op at some time. It's definately been more than once where someone from the factory didn't install something correctly or tight enough or maybe even a bad design that causes problems later. Wires could have 'chafed' somewhere, 'shorting' to ground or another wire. ( I think this may be what 360 meant by crossed wires)

Do you have an aftermarket trailer connector??? I'd check that for corrosion.
