Relay is under the hood in the relay box. You can hot wire the fuel pump there. Or see if the relay is getting 12V. Also the trunk switch may have popped off.

Re: 2001 Ford Taurus Fuel Pump vs. Fuel Relay?

I have checked the reset in the trunk, it is not triped, I even tried bypassing it with a paper clip, no luck, since my last post I bought a relay at my local parts store, it was the wrong one, but I did discover that the fuel pump relay is the same for the wipers, ac clutch, ect., I switched them, still no luck, and the ac clutch still works. I also checked the fuel pressure at the end of the fuel rail, Nothing! I am getting spark because it will start with starting fluid in the throttle body but then dies. I am thinking I have narrowed it down to bad internal electric fuel pump.

The fuel pump relay is only for the fuel pump. Nothing else is powered by it.

Re: 2001 Ford Taurus Fuel Pump vs. Fuel Relay?

you my friend have a bad fuel pump
or bad connection at the pump
i just got finished diagnosing the same problem
what you should do is go beat on the bottom of the tank
while someone else is turning it over i bet it will start
