changed wires an pluges on duratech ohc an drove great for500 miles!now drives good but cuts in an out when rpms reach 4000! could this be the coil??help please

Is the 4000 rpm while driving or in neutral?

Neutral has a rev limiter.

Park has a rev limiter too.

The coils will get a crack on the bottom sometimes. Could be a fuel pump too if it only happens under high fuel demands.

Changed the fuel filter lately?

changed fuel filter with no help! noticed exhaust pipe is spittin water! ground is wet after runnin a while! drove for a long trip an noticed some missin but picked right up when accelerator pushed! maybe throttle postion sensor bad? hose goin to pcv is collapsing! ordered one today to see if it helps! runs like a champ! had alittle gas fumes on trip but did not last long when i got on it!

The muffler has a weep hole for moisture BUT...the pipe leading to the muffler has a weep hole too. My 2001 Taurus SEL Duratec had it. If you meant from the tailpipe this is normal too. Water vapor is a result of catalytic process.

went to ford to get pcv connector an talked to mech. he said the duratech was a horse of a diff. color! could be many things!! could spend a bunch on parts to figure out! needs to be put on analyzer to get to root of problem! at a cost of eighty bucks an who knows what they will tear up in the processconnector had no change in miss! car has all the power you need but when crusing between 30 an 45 in od it misses.tried in drive but no change!got good mind to drive till problem get worse! will this tear something else up?no doubt it will! really have thoughts on tsp sensor exchange lol

You can test the TPS with a voltmeter. This usually causes a fast or wandering idle though.

With the key on and engine off the TPS should read under .99V Then if you manually open the throttle from closed to WOT the voltage should gradually and smoothly increase to around 4.5V or so. Smoothness is the important thing.

friend suggest some good old fuel injector cleaner before spendin money on test!! we will see! thanks for all info! will post results! drink one an see lol

The TPS voltage test is easy and free if you have a voltmeter.
