Alright, I've been searching forever to find some sort of a performance intake for my 01 Sable with the Duratec. Do you guys know of any company that makes them? I've looked at some of the adaptors on eBay. Do those work? I know that the Duratec is the same engine as the Mazda 6 and Ford Escape. Can I put an intake from either one of these cars in the Sable?

I know that K&N makes a performance filter and the stock airbox is restrictive. What is the power gain of just the K&N vs. a cold air intake?

I really don't want to make my own or have someone custom make one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No company makes an intake for the taurus or sable.

Intakes from a Mazda 6 won't work because it uses a different MAF and Throttle Body (it has throttle by wire).

You're probably best off using one of those adapters.

Best performance mods for the latter year Taurus is the SCT Xcalibrator 2 flasher. Many many things can be changed.

I never heard of a company that makes it either. And I don’t think a Mazda Cold Air Intake would be compatible. But, I haven’t yet searched about it.

I made my own out of silicone hose, an MAF adapter, a plumbing rubber 90 and a cone filter in the fender.
