2001 sable w/ 24v duratec, cold start issues
I have a 2001 Sable with the Duratec 24V motor. I have to crank it for a while before it will start when the engine is cold (meaning first start of the day or after it has set for 2 hours or so) no matter what temperature it is outside hot or a cold day it doesn't matter, but once it is started and turned off, it starts right up, but if it sits for a few hours you have to crank it again and its hard to start. No codes and it runs/drives eprfet.
I thought maybe it was in the fuel system so i'm going to replace the fuel filter and try again. I may just turn key to prime the fuel rails and see if it starts fine, if so I know its somewher ein the fuel system. Is is odd because it starts right up when it warm.
Out of curiousity, what kind of vacuum should this motor pull at cold and hot idle? I'll also search for vacuum leaks but I doubt there are any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Dave
