Hello, my name is Daniel, im from miami florida. I just got my first car a 2002 Ford Taurus SE. It has 117,000 miles on it.

I have general knowledge on cars, but not much on my car. Im not even sure the engine :(... Just wants some feed back on my car... All i know is:

V6 Engine (IDK if its DOCH, Flue Flex, or Vulcan.... Im kinda sure its a Vulcan engine, what is a Vulcan Engine?)

Front wheel drive, not 100% sure but i think its 155 hp, and i have the chain timeing-belt...

My car dnot have much pick-up or acceleration, any tips on what i can do to get more pick up ??? Im gonna do a tune up soon (any tips on what to foucs?)

Autozone will check codes for free. There doesn't have to be a light on. Get a can of MAF cleaner and clean the MAF. That often helps. How many miles on it and when was the fuel filter been changed? How about the spark plugs?
The eighth VIN tells what engine it has.
U — 3.0L, EFI, six-cylinder.
S — 3.0L, EFI, DOHC, six-cylinder.
2 — 3.0L, six-cylinder, flex-fuel.

Hello and good day Dan:

Sorry for not responding sooner. We all here have to have 8 cups of Coffee before we get going...LOL...

The Duratec V6 Engine is a good Engine...I have a 2000 Taurus SE Wagon and it's still going strong.

I would advise a good tune-up New Plugs, New PCV, I would clean the MAS, the Throttle Body...I also Burn a Mid-grade Fuel in the Engine 89 octane.
