Hello there

Currently my taurus is having some kind of electrical problem.




I am currently getting various combinations of ABS, Battery and Brake lights pop up on my dash.

1) Most times its just the battery light and everything functions properly.

2) Other times the ABS light comes on either with or without the battery light. Whenever the ABS light is on i lose the ability to turn on my windshield wipers and my power windows no longer function.

3) Other times my Brake light comes on and I hear a screeching sound from the belt under my hood while i'm driving 65 down the highway.

4) These 3 lights just continue to cycle thru randomly flashing making my dashboard look like a Xmas tree.

Additional Info:

Alternator is relatively recent. The previous owner put one on last november.


I mean the lights are entertaining and all but when its raining and I had the window down for a smoke the dam ABS light pops on and now i'm soaked with no windshield wipers.




Anyone have any info on this issue?

I am not an auto electrician but I would check all leads / wiring and socket at alternator and all earths . Even though the alternator was recently replaced , I would get output tested with meter , best I can do to help .
