I own a 2003 mercury sable that I purchased new last year...the car has had one major problem: some sort of internal problem inside the radio was draining the battery...(it took the dealer five batteries and my threat to run the car inside the service drive office for it to be resolved that it was the radio draining the battery and to have it replaced), well, at any rate, the car has been working properly, but I notice that if leave the radio on when I turn the car off, when I turn it on, the radio will blikn before coming on...is this normal for these cars?????

Yes. The RCU (radio control unit) "reboots" every time you shut the ignititon off and turn it back on again. Mostly to check for confirmation of a CD changer, even if you don't have one. I actually found this out accidentally when installing my CD changer. I already had the key on, plugged in the harness to the rcu, and it didn't work. I thought I had a defective harness, but after turning the ignition off and back on again, it worked fine.
