My daughter is experiencing stalling with our 2003 Sable after the car is warm. This occurs after highway speed, slowing down, and beginning to acelerate. The car will restart after a brief period of time. The condition is intermittant.

She took the car to a local mechanic and they replaced the fuel sensor on the rail. This did not correct the problem.

I plugged in my testor when I returned home and received code P0191.

My question is fuel pump problem, or another item?

I took it to a Ford garage yesterday in Lawrenceburg, KY. They will check out today. I will let you know what they think.

The Ford garage just called after two and half days. They have had the car on the computer setup, drove it with the computer attached, and cannot locate the problem.

The mechanic advised he thinks it has to be the fuel pump or its control module, but does not want to do so without being sure.

We will drive the car again until the problem reoccurs. Then we either have to start replacing parts blind, or replace the car.

The unbelieveable part of this occurrence is, the Ford garage refuses to charge for the testing as they could not find the problem.

Interesting. One thing that has been helping me is some decent quality fuel system cleaner/stabilizer. Haven't had the problem since I added it and it seems to be idling a lot smoother. You might want to try this...

Well the car has been running okay since we received it back from the dealer. We will update again if the problem duplicates again.
