93 Sablewill not start.

I've got a 93 Sable V6 3.8L, and it will not start. When you try to start it, you hear a click. The battery and battery cables are brand new. There is a new starter (we even bypassed the starter just to make sure it was working properly) All the connections have been checked and everything is in place. We've had the ability to start it a few times, but not everytime, like it should. Does anyone have any clue as to what it might be? The only thing we haven't done yet is pulled codes on it, to see if anything comes up.

Re: 93 Sablewill not start.

That sounds like a connection problem. Can you turn tthe engine by hand?

Re: 93 Sablewill not start.

I was told that with an internal combustion motor that it would be hard if not impossible to turn the engine by hand...

Re: 93 Sablewill not start.

Just to see if it turns. That would rule out an engine problem. I'd guess that it has a connection problem. Ground or positive. Try jumping it straight to the starter.

" I was told that with an internal combustion motor that it would be hard if not impossible to turn the engine by hand... " Wrong . Normal and easiest way is to put a spanner or socket on crankshaft pulley and turn . Many years ago we used starting handles which operated in the same way .As suggested check wiring connections and also earth wire .
