anyone change one? Is it fun? any tips?

Haven't done one in a Taurus, but here are some general guidelines.
-Try to have the fuel tank lower than 1/4 full.
-Try not to use an old style drop light working around the tank-possible fire hazard.
-Remove pump lock ring with a brass drift (punch) or correct special tool.
-Inspect inside of tank for debri if you can.
-Remove gas cap before starting work.
-Don't smoke around work area-another fire hazrad.
-Make sure to disconnect all vent tubes and electrical connections.

I haven't done a Tarus either, but, if you are real lucky, it may be like my wifes 1999 Escort, and accessed from inside the car, under the rear seat. Very easy.

anyone with a manual that can look this up for me? can u access through the back seat??

I'm pretty sure you will have to cut out a access hole under the back seat, otherwise drop the tank. I have seen a post somewhere giving the exact area that needs to be cut but not sure where I saw it. I will look around a/w and post back if I find it.

Drop the tank! I don't advise hacking into the floorboard.
