95 sable headlight relay?

I took a trip and put 4000km and on the way home,I lost my headlights(low and high beam)but my driving lights work and flash to pass is still working as well as my parking lights.I checked the fuses and everything good there so I pulled the switch and found the wiring had overheated and I replaced it.I checked the switch and is functioning ok.I also replaced the multi switch too.The only thing I can think of that might be the problem is the headlight relay but I can't locate it,anyone know where it is?I searched the ford tech manual but they don't say where it is.I kinda need my lights!Thanx guys

Re: 95 sable headlight relay?

Thanx rtg143,I already have the diagram as well as another diagram showing a relay(from the ford cd manual)but I'm at a loss,is there a relay or not,I always thought all cars had relays(I'm old school mechanic)but I'm learning that not all cars are created equally.Anyway,if there is a relay, where is it?If not, would it be the multiswitch(thats what I'm leaning to)I tested the headlight switch and all tested as working properly but the multiswitch,I couldn't test cause the ford manual doesn't have the correct color code for it.I have been at it for 4-5 days and its driving me crazy,I hate electical trobleshooting.I may change the multiswitch if all else fails. Thanks again.

Re: 95 sable headlight relay?

no auto lamp,I have the same manual.I noticed something new last night tho,When I use my turn flasher, the side marker lights wouldn't light up untill 2 or 3 uses then it would work everytime.(I went out twice). Now I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the multiswitch,do you agree?

Re: 95 sable headlight relay?

It does sound like the combination switch. If power from the headlight switch is going ito it and not out, there's the answer.

Re: 95 sable headlight relay?

UPDATE:

I finally got the flasher arm(multiswith)changed today and it was a success!
I now have my low beams and high beams working again!Turns out there was a short in my driving lights and over heated the headlight switch and caused the wire to melt and that caused the multiswitch to short out.(I did have a relay on the driving lights and 2 fuses)needless to say,the driving lights are gone!(took em out)
