Paramedic 911

I was just quoted for this in CDN dollars for suspension work when i took my car in for noises in the back right rear and a banging sound when i turn the wheel. He quoted $1200 and I'm just going by what he said so here's his list:

- rear spring is broken
- Rear spring coil, and strut.
- front tie rod and saway bar

$1200 plus taxes for both front and rear work..plus taxes Canadian Dollars
"$948 just for rear with taxes in."

"He said that when you replace the spring at the rear that you have to replace the other stuff too."

Does this seem high or on the mark? From the list he gave me, I don't see anything that would be that difficult to replace

technically you do not have to replace everything in the rear when you replace springs. More than likely there are other things that are wrong with it. But without looking at it first hand I would not be able to tell you what is the problem.....it would only be a guestimate.

I would take it to another shop and get an estimate or even a Ford Dealer to get an estimate. If they are below the price you are quoted from an independant then you know he is charging WAY too much.
