the wife shut off the car on the way home and it wouldn't start. when i got there all the warning lights were on ( batt, oil, etc ) and everything worked as if i had the key in the start mode even with no key in.... even changing the gears.the lock cylinder had a lot of play and i ordered a new one and i replaced it and the problem is still the same. any suggestions as where i should look next would be greatly appreciated.

The key lock cylinder pushes a plastic rod which places the ignition switch in the correct mode depending on where the key is set. My rod is broken and was stuck in the run position.I was wondering if any one knows where i may get a diagram for my steering column?...Thank you
