Re: 96 taurus rotors
I've had great luck running Monroe premium pads and discs. It's $130 just for parts, and I can install both fronts in under an hour, total. OE pads and rotors lasted a moderate 55K. I have over 65K on the Monroe units and they still have over 1/4" pad remaining in a lot of city driving. Hawk also makes good pads and Powerslot makes decent rotors. However, I went with Monroe as they're locally sold and after I order online and pay for taxes, shipping and custom fees from bringing product up to Canada from the US, I'll easily pay over $200 for GOOD pads and rotors...so no thanks.
I use a rubber mallet/hammer to budge the rotors off.
