Re: 97 Sho 1st Problem -tranny Leaker

The fluid is the same new tranny fluid I just put in,red and fresh.I also think that it maybe the pump seal or shaft seal or whatever it is I know it's going to be expensive and or time consuming to repair.I have done a few engine swaps myself in older model cars,no problem. But working in the driveway and on THIS car,I think is beyond my capability.I have put a few of the tranny stop leaks in over the summer and maybe they did help.I really hate getting ripped off, and finding a reputable tranny shop,.....I hope I can thanks,ERN

Re: 97 Sho 1st Problem -tranny Leaker

Did you check to see if your transmission cooler lines aren't rusted out or the connections to the transmission body aren't leaking ? Before you attempt to get that
transmission out i'd suggest you pull the motor first. Then the transmission. It usually
comes out the bottom but your car has to be at least 3 feet off the ground and you
need a motor hanger to keep it from falling out. Pray to god you don't snap the bolts or
twist off the nut welds that hold the sub frame onto the body. Yes, the sub frame has to be lowered.
