This morning i use remote key to open the driver door, when i got in the car, i can't close the door. after a lot of try , i entered password( this car can open with password in driver door) and the door closed. may be this problem is caused by cold whether?

I' ve had this happen to my 2001 Taurus SEL once, in the cold weather. One of my co-workers has a 2000 Taurus SES and has had the same thing happen too. Just pull on the outside door handle a few times before closing it.

The locking mech. is starting to get dirty and the grease is old and stiff--only made worse by the cold weather--really should pull locking mech., clean and re-lube with white grease--problem will get worse not better till its fixed--bob
