Need Advices. Difficulty to put fuel into the tank. The tank always seem full but it's not. The nozzle always stop even tough at low pressure, it takes 15 minutes to full the tank. The problem occur in all the gas stations and it began in 2005, but it's worst now. I try differents ways to put nozzle into the filler neck or varies the pressure on the fuel nozzle. Someone at the gas station told me, there was air into the the fuel tank????. Except that, the engine is running good and there's no check engine light.

I had that happen before on a old chevy pickup, the problem was a kink in the filler hose that ran from the filler neck to the fuel tank. If im not mistaken there are 2 hoses, a big one for the fuel and a small one for ventilation. Check them both.

There is air in your fuel tank, there has to be or your tank would be in a vacuum. Its like drinking from a straw, if you were drinking through a straw out of a air tight glass, there would be no way for air to fill the void when you drink the liquid down and would create a vacuum, so I can promise thats not your problem.

Check any fuel/evap. system vents. If any are blocked you will not be able to fill the tank.

I had that happen to a 1990 Taurus. The fuel indicator also showed full all of the time. Kids had stuffed broken small tree branches down the filler neck. Look into the filler neck with a flashlight for foreign obstacles. We removed the neck and hose and removed the branches but a small twig had gone into the tank and was covering the vent discharge hole and was hanging the fuel float lever. Removed the tank and cleaned it good and the problem was resolved.

Sorry, had to say that. I sure would have been unhappy if it were me, but it is easier to laugh at someone else than yourself.

Reminds me of when I took my car in and told them a bearing was almost shot. Picked up the car and the mechanic wrote on the form "Almost replaced bearing." Just kidding.

The person at the gas station who told you about the "air in the fuel tank" is one who you should never let touch your car. They obviously know nothing about cars.

Hi, I have a mustang newbie question. I refueled my mustang the other day. after i filled the tank to half, i closed the gas cap, and then i tried to open it again just to see if i closed it correctly the first time. But then it wouldn't open. I can push it down and twist it counter-clockwise, but the cap doesn't wanna come off. Do i need pry it open?
