My wife has a 98 Taurus that we bought used. Who ever owned the car before her broke one of the tabs behind the radio so now I cannot use the tools to remove it. The tool will just slide right in b/c of no tab. How in the world can I get this thing out now??? I really don't wanna hafta take this some place and pay to have it removed. Thanks!!

If the tabs are broke, it should just pull out.

Unfortunately it won't.... I called a local sound shop and asked about it and the guy told me it's a really big pain in the butt. Told me you've got to go up under the dash with someone up top and try to get to it from the back side. The only reason I need to get it out is to get to the vent door because the vent is stuck open. With the vent door stuck open my wife has no heat in her car. That's pretty brutal here in Colorado right now....
