I have been having problems with my 99 ford taurus for about the last week. I currently have about 86,000 miles on it. The first problem is that sometimes when I go to take off from a stop, my rpm's go up but my car doesn't accelerate very fast. After a few seconds it will jerk and accelerate.
Another problem is that i have recently had is that I had my car in cruise, and for no reason I felt that I was loosing speed so I looked down at my gauges and my speedometer was going back and forth like a metronome.
Lastly, and sorry for the long posting, is that I had to slow down, I went to accelerate and my rpms were going up the car wasnt moving very fast. After it started gaining speed, I noticed that my speedometer still was on 0 mph even though I clearly was moving. Right after that my check engine light came on, I drove home, and here I am.
Yesturday, I had my transmission filter and fluid replaced.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I have no idea what to do!

The problem is your speed sensor. I just went through the same exact problem last week. It's a $25 part but it's a giant pain to change. It's held on by one bolt but the location is the pain. If you crawl under the car and look up between the oil pan and the tranny pan you can see the wires. There is a heat shiel above it. I bent the heat shield and worked on it from above.
