Re: 99 Taurus power Locks & Windows quit
The GEM is the body module that controls power lock relays and the one touch down function of the LF power window. It is mounted to the back of the Interior fuse panel. I doubt this is your problem. For the power windows using a test light hooked to a good ground check the LB/BK wires for power. Test light should light. Check the black wires for a complete path to ground with the test light hooked to power (Positive battery terminal). Test light should light. If it doesn't light on any of these wires check the door jamb wiring for a broken wire. Pull the boot down and look for the previously mentioned wires. For the power locks, Check the black ground wires with the test light hooked to power. With the test light hooked to ground check the PK/YL and PK/LG wires for power. Any missing indicates an open circuit, most likely a wiring break in the door jamb. You can also jump each power wire to ground to see if the doors lock or unlock.
