99 Taurus has been in storage for over a year, charged the battery, now turns over but won't start. Any Ideas?

Have you tried just cranking it a long time while giving it gas?

Silly but is there fuel in the tank?

My Taurus sat for months without being ran and when I attempted to start it recently, it would not. I took a can of starting fluid and sprayed some into the air intake, it started. BE CAREFUL USING THIS STUFF!!! Highly flamable.

DO NOT USE STARTING FLUID!!! IF THE CAR ISN'T STARTING THERE'S A REASON FOR IT. YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST TURNED THE KEY ON A COUPLE MORE TIMES BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.

Its could be the fuel pump not wanting to pump after sitting up, take a rubber mallet and lightly tap the bottom of the tank with key on or while trying to crank and see if that helps. It sometimes works if your fuel pump leaves you stranded and will get you home, who knows.
