Re: Ac blows only hot air
Sounds like a temp. blend door actuator. My 2001 Taurus SEL had the same conditions. If I set the ATC to around 70*F then left it there when I turned it off it would blow hot on the next start-up. I would start the diagnostic procedure then it would work again. I got the trouble code for the blend door actuator, and I eventually replaced it and fixed the problem. Fairly easy to replace, just remove the ICP (radio/climate controls) and the silencer panel under the R. side of the dash and you will see it on the side of the A/C box right in front of you.
