I have a 2000 Taurus with only one key. To get a duplicate made will cost me nearly $100.
Are there any other options?
Is there a way to disable this anti-theft ignition?

No other options my friend unless you "Redneck" the job.

Go get 2 non-Pats keys cut. Take your original PATS key and either tape it behind the column covers near the ignition or remove the "pill" out of the Pats key and tape that in there.

The car will start as long as it reads the "pill" in that original key.
