All,

I have a 2005 Mercury Sable. I started it this morning and the blower for the front window defroster started cycling on and off (on 2 sec., off 2 sec., on 2 sec., off 2 sec...etc.). It was doing this automatically almost as if it had a mind of it's own.

I turned off the power on the A/C panel, and the blower continued to cycle on and off...just the same. I tried changing the function as well (i.e. floor, etc.) and temp +/-, and blower +/- with no effect on the automatic cycling of the blower.

I probably have a short. Any suggestions?

You have climate control in this rig? Most likely a bad blower motor controller.
