frown blown freeze plug

:) My "99 taurus blew a freeze plug at 57,000 miles. The ones they took out of the head are corroded. I asked the dealership to replace all of them with the brass ones I brought to them. They only replaced the totally eaten through one and the ones right there where they were working. It would only cost them $400.00 if they did that. The next one that blows will not give me any warning. The temp. guage does not work when there is no water in the radiator. So then they will have to replace a blown engine. :) blip

Welcome to the board Blip

That doesn't sound too good to me. Why are they corroded in that short of time?
