My wife's 2001 Taurus has the brake lamps stuck on as well as the third brake lamp in the rear windshield. I've disconnected the battery so the car will start in the morning. Will take the car to our mechanic. Anybody had the same problem?

Also had a problem with the brake lights on my 01 Sable. Only my problem was they wouldn't come on. Jumped out brake light switch on at the pedal and they worked. Bad switch. Opened up the switch and found the contact overheated and melted. New switch at dealer included wiring harness and instructions for performing the brake light TSB update. Switch kit was $12.
