Hi everyone.My gf 96 Sable 3.0 V6 24 valve Duratec dies while driving.It doesnt shutter or anything before it dies.It starts right back up.I changed the plugs and wires along with manifold gasket.She does run it low on gas constantly.I try to tell her its bad for the pump.I dont want to replace something if this car has other issues.Any common problems with these vehicles? any ideals before pump replacement is appreciated.

Also there are no vac leaks.I replaced pcv valve hose and all others are ok.

You could take it to Autozone and see if there are any codes. If she runs it low a lot, you're right the pump could be bad.

i have a code reader and the only code is for the DPFE sensor.she said its been on for about a year.

The DPFE sensor is part of the EGR system. DPFE failure is a kinda common.
I'm not a mechanic or anything but I'd replace it, and look into cleaning or relacing the EGR valve & PCV valve. And make sure the tubing isn't obstructed. It's probably best to get an oem DPFE.

You won't get a code for a failing fuel pump. Those intermittant problems are hard to fix. It is possibly the fuel pump.

I'd rule out the DPFE first before throwing a fuel pump at it. A malfunctioning DPFE sensor can cause the EGR to work incorrectly, and cause the car to stall. If you want to see if the fuel pump is dropping out when stalling, hook a fuel pressure gauge up, and watch it when it stalls. If there's no pressure drop when stalling then address the DPFE issue.

Had to replace 2 DPFe sensor in one Year.

Never thought to ask if it died idling. I guessed he was talking about while driving along.

It hasn't died when idling.Before it shook and wanted to die,but never has.I changed the oil,plugs,manifold gasked and replaced the pcv valve hose.Th pcv hose had a hole in it.Then it started to die while driving.No rough idle or anything.It only does it while she drives it,so i am goin off of what she describes.But she said it hasn't done it in three days now.So I will change the DPFE sensor first.Gotta change it for inspection anyway.Will post updates when available.
