i just got a 97 taurus gl, 170000mi, car is in good shape for its age, i need help troubleshooting the cooling fans. i dont think they are working, i need a step by step trouble shooting guide. thanks ....brian
Try to find a Factory Service Manual online. If you go to the dealer they'll try to string you for about $80-100. They're great to have to repair and troubleshoot your problems since its the same manual the tech's at the dealer use.
I'd give all your fuses a once over as well. You may be able to ohm out the fans and check for continuity. Cheers.
The high speed fan should come on at idle if the AC is on.
The low speed fan should come on at around 210F.
