confused crank pulley dohc 1999 sable

1999 sable wagon dohc replacing crank pulley. removed damper (it was spinning freely in pulley) then 3 bolts holding pulley bracket all went well till I tried to remove pulley and bracket from shaft there was not enough clearance between shaft and body. solution please.

Do you have a Hanyes, or Chilton Manual for this Year??

If I remember correctly you have to come in for under the Wheel Well...I will look at several of my Manuals and advise further.

thanks for your reply. the service manuel states that you should jack right side remove wheel and fender liner. this gives you a good view of the pulley but the problem remains the same (the pulley and bracket does not have enough clearance from the car body to the shaft to allow removal) I got so po'd that I got the cutting torch and cut the pulley in half, now of course it comes of. Problem now is how do I get back on?

Using a jack to support the subframe loosen the two bolts on that side and lower the subframe to get clearance.
