Hey! I have a 1997 Taurus, and I want a cold air intake, I checked out this video on youtube and found that a guy made a cold air just using basic materials. I would do the same to my car, but it looks too bloody simplistic for my taste. Here is the video . Basically all I want to know, is this a good idea, or a complete FAIL?!

I don't get it. "I makes a good sound,I get a kick out of it".
Did he just attach some "foam" to his intake?
How does this make the air colder?
Aren't stock systems getting cold (outside of the engine bay) air anyway?
I would absolutely NOT follow this guys tips and I perceive that it may have been a joke.

Yeah I see your point. In all honesty though, I really don't think he is joking. If you look at the video comments, he is clearly defending it. At least I know now that, if I want a cold air intake I should just go buy a legitimate one.

A cold air intake won't get you squat unless you plan on driving around town with your foot to the floor and the engine near red line. Noise, yeah. But CAI don't produce any extra HP until they're close to red line.
