Does Ford pay for other damage when a front spring breaks? This would include, for example torn tire, damaged half axle, strut, links, etc.

And, did the damaged vehicle have the recall performed to install the spring shields before the spring broke?

If a coil spring breaks and causes damage to the tire, rim, link pin, or any other part Ford will cover the costs of the repair. The Dealership just has to call in for prior approval of the estimate. I had one that messed up the axle and Ford requested pictures of the damaged axle, but they still covered the parts.

There are 2 recalls.................

One is to install shields if they are not broke.
The other is to replace both springs if any front springs break during the extended recall period.

If shields go on and a spring breaks 2 weeks later, the spring is still covered. If the spring breaks, they are replaced with the updated part and no shields installed.

However, what I really need to know is if Ford has been replacing other damaged parts after a broken spring when the owner did NOT have the shields installed per the recall.

Yes. They have been replacing parts even without the shields installed.
