Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I have a 1999 Ford Taurus that has a gas tank that leaks so I have to replace it. A friend has a brand new tank from a 2000 Ford Taurus that he said he will give me. Can I use this in my 99? He said the 99 tank is a 39C and this one is a 39G and the only difference is the 99 has a 1 valve vent and the 2000 has 2 valves? I just want to make sure before I take the old tank off. Thanks everyone in advance for your help!!

NO.

The 2000+ models started using an 18gal tank. The 96-99 models use a 16gal tank, and fitment will be an issue. Check out RockAuto Auto Parts for a '96-'99 tank.
