Hubby is attempting to replace the vehicle speed sensor in my 99 taurus wagon, he broke it and half is stuck in the hole....he has tried darn near everythig to get it out, any help would save me a ton of money

If you are referring to the one below the exhaust manifold in the rear with that shield over it, and he broke the bolt or the actual sensor?

If he broke the sensor, it will not come out with a pick since there is an O-ring holding it tight. There is no way possible to get even a small drill in there either.

If it was my car, I would probably end up yanking the transmission, but that will be expensive for you.

Just popping the damn thing though into the trans and putting a new one in MIGHT cause damage or maybe not. Is it worth the chance of screwing up the tranny if you are gonna end up yanking it anyway?

Well if it is an AX4S tranny, that tranny still has a speedometer gear cover that the sensor goes into that can easily be removed and the sensor can be pushed out of the cover. The connector will be facing the left side of the car. If it is the AX4N tranny the tranny would have to come out and come apart. The connector on this tranny points straight up. Good luck!!!
