Question Help identifying this coolant hose? With pic.

1999 Taurus Sedan, 3.0L V6 "Vulcan" engine, AX4S tranny.

This metal/plastic hose is corroded and leaking. I believe it is the return line to the coolant expansion tank, and in my Haynes manual it is referred to as the "coolant expansion hose." I can't find a part number for it anywhere, and can't find a similar hose at Rockauto.com.

Can anyone tell me what the part number or correct name for this hose is?

Replace it with a copper pipe.

It is also refered to a Degas Tube, it is a return line for coolant back to the bottle. The dealer will be the best bet if you want to go in that direction, the basic part # is 8A595, I do not have the first part or last part of the number. just take it to the Ford Dealer with your VIN and they'll find it fast.

Re: Help identifying this coolant hose? With pic.

I'd do like chipset says. Cut the hose and clamp in a piece of copper pipe. I don't know what it is about these damn Taurus' but my coolant continues to fill with rust. I flush it and flush it and flush the hell out of it and put in new stuff and the conditioner and in no time the coolant is rust filled.

What gives folks?

You probably have a problem with electrolysis.
