I just recently bought the car and they only had 1 key and and no remote. I asked if they had remote for the keyless entry and they did not have one and they did not know if it came with one. Please help.

Turn ignition key from off to run (not start), 8 times within 10 seconds, ending in the run position. If the locks cycle, you have keyless entry. Or you could look for the RAP module, I think it is located in the trunk behind the trim panel, drivers side.

2000 and newer is done by GEM (fuse block), no seperate module as in the past.

Are all Taurus prewired for a RAP module? Are all RAP modules the same?

I installed cruise control into my 1999 plain Jane Taurus when I got it about 2 years ago. That installation was a snap. All the connections were in place, just had to install the piece parts. Only problem I had was I needed a new (from a bone yard) steering wheel & air bag.

I found that my car has no RAP module but I also did not find any wires hanging around just waiting to plug into one. I would like to consider installing one though.

Edit: I thought the RAP module was located just above the brake pedal under the dash, not in the trunk. If its in the trunk, I have looked in the wrong place.
