The hex head of the oil drain plug got round. What should I do? I am so warrying if it needs to change the whole drain pan? Help me! Appreciate in advance!

Have you tried vise grips? The pan won't have to be changed, just get the plug out. Even if you have to take it to a shop, the plug can be removed.

Saw this in Advanceautoparts, $25, too high for me. Did not find it in Harbor freight tool. Keep digging.

$25 isn't bad. A similar brand in Canada will run in the $50 range. $25 is a good deal! Especially if a shop has to remove the pan and try to turn it from the inside. Vice-grips should work just fine for you though and I'd try that first. If not, get the set. Shops charge hourly, so I'd guess at least $50 for them to remove the bolt if they do it quickly. If not, well count on close to $100. Vicegrips are a lifesaver.

Get a socket one size down, a 6 POINT one, NOT 12 POINT. Hammer it on flush. Pop on ratchet and remove. If you need to use a smaller standard socket, that's OK. Vise grips tend to make drain plugs more obliterated.

harbor freight has these for around 18 bucks for a set of metric or a set of standard. They work just as good as any other brand if you ask me. also, i always keep a tiny pipe wrench in my toolbox just for that type of situation, usually gets the job done.

Don't waste your time and money on tools. Get your friend or neighbour to weld on a new nut to the excisting plug. Then unscrew it. It's that simple. I do it all the time.
