I, too, have bad power windows
Im working on a 2001 Taurus. LF window is inop. Apparently, it is inop for long periods of time, then works for a while. All other windows and features work as they should.
Actuated window switch, heard relay power up and click over. Pulled motor, applied 12v, and motor turns. Tested motor connector while actuating switch. I get approx 4 volts ONLY when activating one touch down. No voltage at all for up and regular down. Also swapped relays, no change.
Im tempted to say the switch might be bad, but thats mostly because I hate thinking the GEM is at fault. And I know about Ford's notorious grounds, so that might be a problem. I also know that this is a very common issue with these cars. Is there a TSB anyone can post, or a known fix?
