Intermittent stalling at idle...02 Taurus
I have an 02 Taurus pushrod engine with 48k miles. I have an intermittent problem, it may occur 3 or 4 times in 5 minutes, and then is fine for two weeks. The car stalls when I come to a stop. It will always restart if I open the throttle slightly. But sometimes it will stall again as soon as I lift my foot off the throttle. I was looking at other threads on this forum, and one mentioned a throttle position sensor could be the culprit. Should I replace this sensor and see what happens? I have already replaced the fuel filter thinking that I may have had some water in the gas. The fuel filter was the original and it was time for a replacement. Thanks, in advance, for your comments.
