lifted taurus

well as stupid and redneckish as this may sound, i like the overall design of my 05 taurus except for the side profile because of the fact that looks like there is only about half an inch gap between the rear wheel and wheel well when there's about a two and a half inch gap up front. is there anything i can do to raise the rearend of the car to make it look more normal, or even maybe raise the back an inch and lower the front an inch?

biggrin Re: lifted taurus

You might be a redneck. Ok, I'm kidding!!! I have a 2001 Taurus SEL w/ a 3.0L Duratec and my car rides the same. Every 2000-2006 Taurus/2000-2004 Sable I've seen on the road or parked rides this way. I would not worry about it. Which engine do you have???

Re: lifted taurus

not just the 2000- ups, but all Tauruses since 1996 have the same visual "mistake" so to speak, as did the 1986-1995 cars, but those cars not so much. the problem is that the rear fender is lower in relation to the beltline, and yet the beltline does not slope upward, hence the weirdness. for the car to ride level, it has to have the inequal fender gaps.
