If somebody can help me please give me a hint!
I have a Mercury Sable '96, ~100.000 miles on it and starting with a few hours ago when I shut off the engine the lights are not shutting off and continuously are staying on. Today I disconected the batery and I hope I'll find an answer. Is this a small job to fix it or is a big and complicated problem?

Wich manual is the best to try to find the wiring? I don't have too much experience and please don't confuse me!

Are you talking headlights? Running lights? Courtesy lights?
There is a lamp relay mounted on a brace (center of instrument panel) ... contacts could have stuck or you could have a short in the multifunction switch.

Either Chilton or Haynes manuals should be able to help you out with the wiring diagnostic, but if you want to be sure, get a Factory Service Manual on eBay. The disc FSMs are fine, but you need Adobe Acrobat to read it.
