Loss of compression at 120K miles? 3.0DOHC

I have a 1996 Taurus LX and have noticed slowly more and more over time, the car feels allot less powerful. Is this normal for a car to have less over time and miles? Enough to be noticed? What could cause it? Air filter has been changed as well, so I don't think it is that. If anyone can offer anything that would be nice. Thanks.
