I am going to buy a car on april and im stuck on the mustang vs sho and i was wondering which to buy. I am looking for best hp for the buck and stuff so i know how much all the mods for an sho would cost me if i did it myself. And i was wondering if i could get in the mid to high 300hp range with like 4-5k then later add a turbo thx for readin

Get the Mustang. Vast amount of parts and upgrades available for them. The Taurus SHO with the V-8 is fast, but that Yamaha engine is not reliable at all.

If your goal is 300 hp, the cheapest way to get there in a ford 4 door would actually probably be with a crown victoria with a well-built 5.0 HO dropped in.

The V8 SHO is very hard to get more power out of and the V6 SHO's are all getting pretty old and are showing their age and they too were difficult to get more than 250 hp out of.

There are some old police cars in my town and I was wondering if those would be good cause I heard some of the police cars were built with an LT1 engine like the vette.

Or could i just rebuild the sho with the performance parts? And i found an 87 thunderbird supercharged for 800 and this will be my first car since i didnt mention that.

I own a 93 SHO V-6, it has 175,000+ trouble free miles on her. It is a great car. You can fine on the SHO forums alot of infro on beefing them up there. I have had 2 85 Turbo T-Birds in the past, if well mantainded they make a good fast cars. The SHO is more work to mantain than a Mustang, and the Mustangs are ez'er to get parts for, but using a 4 dr Taurus to show up the inport car people is way to much fun. IMHO

ok i was probably gonna buy from shobrosgarage.com is that a good place to buy form for parts? and what are some common problems with the sho besides the tranny cause im gettin that rebuilt along with the engine if i get one and would a list of parts be helpful for anyone giving me advice?
