Have a 2003 Ford Taurus 3.0. Is it true that aftermarket alternators aren't compatable/or is there a problem installing an aftermarket alternator? I see no service bulletins about this.

A quick answer would be appreciated!

The said source may have been given a wrong alternator to install, as the brackets can be different.

Otherwise getting an aftermarket unit, rebuilt or other should fit without problems as long as the place you buy it from has an accurate database.
