Hi, I have a 98 Taurus sedan, V6 3L SE. Unfortunatelly it's not the SHO :(. Did Taurus come as a police cruiser at all in 98? If so, what were the "special" options and where can I find out more about them?

I'm thinking on customizing my Taurus and would like to hear some comments on how to make it faster, better, unique etc... Thanks.

The first Police Package Ford Taurus was released in 1990.
The 1990 Taurus Police Package was powered by a 3.8 litre V-6, with 140 hp.
For 1991 the engine was improved to an output of 155 hp.
For 1992 the Taurus was resyled and sales of the Police Package began to increase.
For 1993 the engine was once again improved, increased to 160 hp.

The Taurus remained pretty much unchanged until 1995. The retail Taurus was all new for 1996, but Ford no longer offered the Police Package with this new style change.
