I am new to theese forums but i have a 93 taurus gl 3.8 and i just recently replaced the serpentine belt and when i took it off i saw that there was a major wear spot on the belt.. after further looking at all of the pulleys i discovered alot of rubber on the ac pulley like the pump seized up.. ac doesnt work but does anyone have any suggestions what i should do? also does anyone know if the ac unit in the 93 taurus models are bad or what any help appriteated. my email is firewing@caltel.com.
If the compressor was siezed, you would fry a belt in a minute or two. You could pull the belt off and check all the pulleys to see if they spin freely, or if the bearings sound dry.Something may be on its way out. (2 cents)

If you don't want to fix the compressor, visit Untitled Document and check out their compressor bypass pulleys. You remove the compressor and install this in it's place. It's an exact fit, so you use the same belt and tensioner. They're about $30. I'm not affiliated with dorman.
