my 2000 ford Taurus autolight quit working. The running lights still work and the headlights work on manual -

I have reviewed all the fuses and see no issues there is ther any ideas ??

There is a DRL module located behind the front bumper on the driver's side by the radiator. The DRL (Daytime Running Light) module has probably failed.

Replace it or unplug it.

The DRL module is made by Lucas of England.

There is a bypass plug that will fit in there to get rid of the DRLs permanently.

Or are you talking about the headlights coming on at night by themselves???

With the light switch in the auto position the running lamps light but no head lights - only when the head lamp is switched on manually do they illuminate

There are two relays in the Central Junction Box under the hood for the auto lamps. Both fed by the same fuse. One is for the park lights and the other is for the headlights. Sounds like the headlight relay is bad.

They are cheap if you don't get OEM. Go to a store that sells fog lights and use one of those relays. Usually under $10.
