now the water-pump on my taurus..

ok first the main belt, then the tensioner, then o-boy the brake thing, that i got all fixed up ,,(if u have caliper probs most likely its the flex line ,save some $$ do that first),but now im tackleing a water pump impeller replacement,
after rippin most of the right hand side of the engine apart i fineily got the dang thing off, without trippin out,now to get the new part & install it & put all the other parts back on. i will update u all on this lil progect.its not going to be eazy it took 2 of us 2 1/2 hours to tear down.it cums in handy to have my skinny hands 4 at least 2 lil bolts that are not really needed.go figure frickin fords.
should of left it in the states,& took a cab home,(save $169.00 us in towing)
then paid the 500 buck deductable ,cause it be stolen by the tyme we found it. canadien way of thinking .would of got yet another ford..dont ask me why?
update on this fix soon.
any input on this fix is more then welcome ..
thanx:all

Don't leave out any of the bolts. Make sure the gasket surface on the front cover is clean. If you haven't already done so, remove the coolant bottle for extra room.

Re: now the water-pump on my taurus..

yep that coolent container was the first to go.
& them 2 lil bolts i talked about them puppies r going in first,1 of them is a long 1 that hits the tensioner when trying to get it out,so i hack-sawed a 1/4 inch off the bolt just too get it out without removeing the tensioner, its 1 of them funny bolts,so i could just cut some of it off & still have the bolt head non-touched.will search for a replacement 2-morrow & let u know if i bust a knucle or 2,lol.5bucks a cut, lol.
p.s. gasket surface is neat & clean good 2 go. im thinkin maybe a new belt also seeing as this 1 is now cracked allover from the pumps pully witch was cock-eyed when i removed it ,the impeller bearing were shot.

So there was a bolt with a funny head holding the tensioner on??? Was it a 12 point head or was it a non hex torx bolt??? All you had to do was remove the tensioner and it gives plenty of room.

nope did not remove the tensioner.there was 1 thin bolt behind it that was just a wee bit long so i cut a 1/4inch off ,its 1 of those bolts that the nut went 3/4 inch down the bolt welded on the threads so now there only a .1/2inch stickin out of the nut, instead of 3/4 inch.
----(------------- kind of looks like this, the bracket ( is the nut the dashes r the bolt. just made it eazyer then takeing the tensioner off.

Re: now the water-pump on my taurus..

one happy puppie here:
all went well replaceing the water-pump on this ford ,it took 2 1/2 hours too rip it down & 2 1/2 hours to put back together,i knew sooner or later some thing will workout to plan with no probs..
clean off the old gasket.stick new gasket on new part with just a tad bit of gunk tite-seal,let it sit a bit ,then mount on the motor,& start wrenchin, all the bolts & put alt back in place, then the dang belt!!!?? i swear its just a wee-bit smaller then the 1 i need, but the new aftermarket tensioner could be just that wee-bit bigger,
any hoo its all good 2 go ,,even test drove 2 the beerstore.its a givein.
